Florida Roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa) goes by several names: Roselle Hibiscus, Jamaican Sorrel, and Florida Cranberry. It has a sweet-tart flavor just like cranberries. Instead of the flower being used, the meaty calyx is harvested. In Florida, our Roselle is blooming around the time of Thanksgiving and can actually be boiled down and used the same way as cranberry! It is super high and vitamin C and we love to drink it in our teas and also use it in our elderberry syrup.
